What has been the most proudest moment in life so far?
Graduating high school and being accepted to my college of choice
Most embarrassing moment?
Coming from Alvin Ailey, I received an injury to my left ankle before the first week of college started, and since I was a dance major, it forced me to sit out the whole semester. I sat in the corner of my classes and watched everyone dance. I was so hurt and sad because I urgently wanted to join them. And I walked around the campus with crutches for weeks and then a cane...
What would people be surprised to learn about me?
That I am a genuine, loving person that loves to be funny, and I love to see others do a great job in doing the things they love.
Do I have any lucky charms?
Yes... my mothers OLD jean hat, she wrote all of her hit songs while wearing it. And its older than me!!! It gives me a good feeling.
Who are your heroes in life?
My mother...She loved the art of music so much that she overcame any and every obstacle that approached her. While raising my three siblings, she worked diligently to build her catalog and after a few of years, she gracefully made it through the ranks of her musical heroes and shared spotlights with lots of musical geniuses. She was nominated for a grammy in the 70's in the same category with Stevie Wonder and he won. But the rush of the opportunity made her feel so grateful. Also my sister, for my sister and mother are so much alike. My sister was an honor student throughout her school years and she went onto joining the army in 1983 specializing in the dental field. In 2004 she was honored by the army in a retirement ceremony at Fort Meyer with high honors and is currently working in the dentist field at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and she stands as Sergeant First Class Retired Kim Cook.
What's been my toughest obstacle in life?
Trying to make a successful living and make my career work for me
If I win, who would I thank first?
Honestly I would thank the creators of the show and Fox TV for building such a profound show so that performers, such as myself, who love the art of dance and sacrificed so much to accomplish the impossible, can show who they are, and help make dreams come true. I believe everyone is a winner, but my hunger for the stage is limitless. And I will do what it takes to become better, to take on any situation and circumstance and shine so the rest of the world would know just how much I love what I do. People ultimately remember you by how you made them feel, and dance is one of the most powerful art forms to change or evoke expressions of emotion. And I will absorb any opportunities that are afforded to me and in turn, create opportunities for others. Then I would humbly thank my mother!!!!
